Our story
A letter from our Founder
A quarter of a century ago, I found myself at a crossroads. After 15 years working for the Big Four, I needed a change; a new challenge that would allow me to apply my passion for mathematics, finance, and data science in a more dynamic way.
In July 2000, I stepped into the world of interim management, setting the foundation for what would become an incredible journey. In 2003, an exciting international opportunity arose; one that brought together skills in mathematics, finance, computing, and project management. It reinforced my belief that solving complex problems with data-driven insights could transform businesses. That project was such a success that the executive who bought the project, Jon Rignall, left his career in one of the biggest corporations in the world to join JTA. He is still on our board today.
As the company grew, so did our vision. Wanting to embrace new horizons, we moved the company to Portugal, drawn by its vibrant economy, incredible talent, and world-class educational system.
There, we partnered with Duarte Gomes, a brilliant young entrepreneur who shared our ambition and drive. Together, we built a consulting firm that is now at the forefront of AI and data science, working with some of the world’s largest companies to unlock new possibilities through innovation.
Today, our team has grown to 70 exceptional professionals across Porto, the USA, London, and Toronto. From a bold idea to a global consulting leader, our journey has been driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a belief in the transformative power of data and AI. As we look to the future, we remain committed to pushing boundaries, shaping industries, and creating impact—one breakthrough at a time.
