JTA The Data Scientists understands that you are aware of and care about your own personal privacy interests, and we take that seriously. This Privacy Policy describes JTA The Data Scientists’ policies and practices regarding its collection and use of your personal data and sets forth your privacy rights. We recognize that information privacy is an ongoing responsibility, and so we will from time to time update this Privacy Policy as we undertake new personal data practices or adopt new privacy policies.

  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Processing necessary to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory requirements.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Where we have requested and you have provided explicit consent for specific processing activities, such as direct marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at  [email protected].

We do not sell personal information to anyone and only share it with third parties who are facilitating the delivery of our services.

From time to time, JTA The Data Scientists receives personal information about individuals from third parties. Typically, information collected from third parties will include further details on your employer or industry. We may also collect your personal data from a third-party website (e.g. LinkedIn).

Use of JTA The Data Scientists Website

As is true of most other websites, JTA The Data Scientists’ website collects certain information automatically and stores it in log files. The information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, the region or general location where your computer or device is accessing the internet, browser type, operating system and other usage information about the use of JTA The Data Scientists’ website, including a history of the pages you view. We use this information to help us design our site to better suit our users’ needs. JTA The Data Scientists relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission to legitimise such transfers. We do not otherwise reveal your personal data to non-JTA The Data Scientists persons or businesses for their independent use unless:

  • You request or authorize it.
  • It is in connection with JTA The Data Scientists hosted or co-sponsored conferences.
  • The information is provided to comply with the law (for example, compelled by law enforcement to comply with a search warrant, subpoena, or court order), enforce an agreement we have with you, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or the rights, property or safety of our employees or others.
  • The information is provided to our agents, vendors or service providers who perform functions on our behalf.
  • To address emergencies or acts of God.
  • To address disputes, claims, or to persons demonstrating legal authority to act on your behalf.

We may also gather aggregated data about our services and website visitors and disclose the results of such aggregated (but not personally identifiable) information to our partners, service providers, advertisers, and/or other third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

JTA The Data Scientists’ website connects with third-party services such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and others. The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws provide certain rights for data subjects. Your rights include:

  • Right to be informed: To receive clear information about how your personal data is used (this Privacy Policy fulfils that obligation).
  • Right of access (Art. 15): To obtain confirmation that your personal data is being processed and to receive a copy of that data.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16): To have inaccurate personal data corrected or incomplete data completed.
  • Right to erasure / ‘right to be forgotten’ (Art. 17): To request deletion of your personal data, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18): To request that processing of your personal data be restricted in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20): To receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller.
  • Right to object (Art. 21): To object to processing of your personal data where it is based on legitimate interests, including for direct marketing purposes.
  • Rights related to automated decision-making (Art. 22): Not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: To lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt). You may also have recourse to the European Data Protection Supervisor.

If access cannot be provided within a reasonable time frame, JTA The Data Scientists will provide a date when the information will be provided. If access is denied, an explanation will be given.

Data Storage and Retention

Your personal data is stored by JTA The Data Scientists on its servers, and on the servers of the engaged cloud-based database management services. JTA The Data Scientists retains service data for the duration of the customer’s business relationship and for a period thereafter, to analyze the data for JTA The Data Scientists’ own operations, and for historical and archiving purposes associated with JTA The Data Scientists’ services.  JTA The Data Scientists retains prospect data until such time as it no longer has business value and is purged from its systems.

Children’s Data
